Last weekend, we had a group of apprentices over to watch a movie. After much discussion and debate between Hot Rod and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Mitty won. If you haven’t seen that movie, I highly suggest it.
It was an enjoyable evening, but what made it memorable was the series of events that unfolded afterwards. The neighborhood we live in is very particular about parking. Whenever we have a large group of people over, we move our cars to the parking lot of the CVS that is half a mile from the house in order to create enough space for the cars of the guests. Once the festivities ended, my roommates and I went to retrieve our vehicles.
When we arrived back at the house, I suddenly became aware of how hilarious I looked. I went to CVS wearing a tank top, shorts (yes, I had shorts on), and a bathrobe. Oh, and I was barefoot. Seriously. In public! Who does that? Me, apparently. I made a joke that we should have taken pictures. So, in the spirit of spontaneity, we piled into one car and drove back to take the pictures you see here. I thought it was especially funny that I’m still holding my car keys with no vehicle in sight.
I was going to try and make this blog relate to something deeper, but honestly, I just wanted to share a funny moment with all of you. Seriously, on a Saturday night, I found myself barefoot, in a CVS parking lot, and wearing a bathrobe. It’s funny where life takes you. Sometimes I feel like the tendency with blogging is to share about the big revelations or events that happen. Not today. I also want you to know about the goofy in-between moments that no one talks about. Bathrobes and parking lots. Where will I go next?
